Disability is not Inability

:: Recommendations from the Media Session in a workshop to explore challenges and ways of expanding ways of improving particiaption of PWD in Kenyan electoral process.

These are summarised as;

• DPOs need Media Skills training

• Journalists need training on how to provide depth and linkages to issues in society

• Participants should learn how to package themselves for visibility

• Ratification and signing of conventions are issues that should be tackled.

• Participants should note the tips provided on how to be newsworthy

• There should be a national enquiry by KNCHR on disability problems

• Reach in terms of language is critical

• Building networks should continue beyond the workshop.

• Issues of disability should be brought to Media Focus on Africa’s attention.
