Annual AWARDS for Recognition of
success.
ABILITY AWARDS aims to provide a recognition system in which
successful PWDs of both gender will be given recognition through
an annual awarding system that expemplifies the most innovation
and tenacity in pursuing success.

The Ability Awards project was established with
the view that self esteem is one of the major barriers to success
that perosn with disabilities face in this very competitve society
that Kenya has turned into.

Lack of self-esteem bearing in mind limitations of disabilities
is one of the main challenges that deniy persons with disabilities
to fully maximise their large potential.
The need to role model the younger generation of people with disabilities
cannot be underscored. This would significantly improve their
livelihoods as the take over the baton of improving our livelihoods
as a disability-friendly community.

The visibility of the PWDs in the media is also
of significant importance not only to the younger generation but
also to the wider integration issues.
Ability awards working with the media will also encorage talk
shows that bring to fore the challenges of disability; how the
role model made it and what are the main principles that drive
them.
This is critical not only to building more success stories but
also to encouraging those with various talents and living with
a disability not to sit and wait but work on their talents and
make themselves get some recognition.
Annual AWARDS for Recognition of success.
ABILITY AWARDS aims to provide a recognition system in which successful
PWDs of both gender will be given recognition through an annual
awarding system that expemplifies the most innovation and tenacity
in pursuing success.
The Awards are divided into categories that promote and encourage
effort irrespective of gender and disability. They are therefore
divided into these categories. Themes will be used to define the
meriting of the overall award winners. These themes help alot
in pushing certain buring issues that have to be addressed.
Awards specific to Achievements
Working with the other projects success in business, public service,
or employee with disability of the year are other areas we wish
to expand the awards into. Theses will work well with the need
to make the awards specific to certain achievements that are critical
to building a disability freindly society.
Public and Private sectors that have most adjustments
to enable disability-freindliness and have also increased their
capacity both in quality and quantity will also need be awarded
to improve motivation for disability-friendly corporate initiative.
