The Ambassadoer hotel junction between Banks Street and Moi Avenue is the collection poin for the Deaf in the city centre. The Blast occured in the morning and many may have been in twon already on their way to various parts of the city where they work or do business.

The Blast occured at about 8.30 AM when many are on the way to work. The busy area is a dropping point for communters from various parts of the city suburbs on their way to or from work.

The Ambassadeur coner also has for over 15 years now a business point ofr a group of enterprising deaf nairobians who sell an assortment of goods. These includes sweets, cigarettes and newspapers.
