Disability is not Inability

:: Could David Salome Kimata floor Goliath Uhuru Kenyatta

The most interesting and borne to be a battle extraordinarie is Salome Kimata who will be the David in a battle with Offcial opposition leader and Chairman of the oldest party KANU. Indications on the ground are that Salome may have a strong chance specifically because of Uhuru and KANU position in ODM kenya. If Uhuru is not standing for presidential elections and not working with President Kibaki, Gatundu is NARC Kenya zone, Salome could well floor Goliath.

Indications are that Salome could be picking her five stones carefully. The killer spear would well be if Uhuru runs for presidential seat in ODM and stands against President Kibaki. But Uhuru is neither in ODM nor is he running for presidential seat yet of any serious coalition party.

Salome's Stones

The stones Salome have are dependent alot on Uhuru's moves with Kanu and ODM. Grassroot politics show that the constituents could sway any side depending on Kibaki's politics.

Casting the first stone

The first stone would be to prove a worthy opponent. This Salome would achive if she were able to floor two of the strongest contenders of the Gatundu seat. one is a nephew of the sitting MP while the other is a starter. Salome could cast a stone that would hit these for the nomination seat of NARC KENYA party. If this would be won she would be in a position to cast the first serious stone and Uhuru would notice her.

Casting the second stone

That salome has been working the ground for some time is without doubt, but that Salome has not been aroung long enough to penetrate the kind of presence that the constituents would identify with her in large numbers is also real. If however President Kibaki would within the current push for more women in the national assembly, President Kibaki would surely be the second major stone that salome could throw.

The third stone

The third stone when we discussed this with political analysts would be for salome to hit try and go around Uhuru's campign machine. He may look at her as an underdog and not mount anything serious thinking it would be a walk over. disability can make people foolish at times. Uhuru may approach the campaign with the attitude that he cannot be beaten by some poor woman living with a disability. so he may not mount any serious campign. Or he may underestimate the influence of President Kibaki in his backyard and finally this would be an opportunity for salome to make serious inroads into the win.
