Most staff and partners of Liverpool
VCT in Kenya, would remember the Director more for
he was a workaholic. He was a beliver in systems with a focused
eye on the bottomline. This was crucial for the leading VCT organisation
in Kenya.
He joined the organisation during a dificult transition that saw
the immediate former director Sarah Jones come and leave within
one year after the long serving and founding director of Liverpool
VCT Kenya. Dr. Miriam Taegtmeyer, moved on back to the UK.

director who successfully streered the large organisation
through a transition that saw wider regional presence in
various crucial core areas that LVCT |

The large and crucial organisation needed a director with wide
skills not only in strategic management skills that can steer
the organisation to expand leadership in providing Voluntary counselling
and Testing, but also into the increasing demand for better Care
and Treatment regimes as HIV/AIDs enters the flat phase.
The National AIDS Control Council (NACC) is quoted
to have expressed much satisfaction with the quality of VCT services
offered by the organisation. Liverpool VCT has a gold medal when
it comes to Voluntary Counselling and Training (VCT).
The organisation was and remains the startegic partner in the
implementation of the the unique Deaf VCT programme after leading
stakeholders into establishing one of the most unique inclusive
programme in HIV/AIDS mananegment in the World.
The bulging regional demand for various products
and services available at the organisation was what the director
was pursuing during his fateful flight from Cameroun. Dr. Henn
had a wide experience in regional health management issues and
was central to a network of strategic leaders marshal more effective
subsaharan HIV/AIDS programme.

Quite a number of regional efforts lack the central nature of
quality assuarance in manageing HIV/AIDS and LVCT is a leading
consultant in Quality Assuarance Systems backed by quality and
comprehensive training Standards. Through its strong basic and
operations research program, LVCT contributes to evidence-based
policy formulation and programming in Kenya.

Widely expected to be America's First Black President knew
his HIV status in a VCT site run by LVCT. This was one of
the greatest campighns to for Kenyans to know their HIV status.

This led to high profiling of VCT services among
the Kenyan Youth community which has the highest HIV prevalence
and hero worships support for Senator Obama.
Dr. Henn steered the organisation into the crucial
areas of Treatment and Care for those living with HIV. with the
same quality service in areas such as adherence counselling in
ARV management in which courses are provided the thousands countrywide
providing the services in various public private and mission facilities.
Senator Obama Widely expected to be America's First Black
President knew his HIV status in a VCT site run by LVCT. This
was one of the greatest campighns to for Kenyans to know their
HIV status. This was followed by a list of youth Ministers and
Honourable members who also chanuka'ed through LVCT sites in various
parts of the country.
The capacity building program promotes decentrlisation of services
and community ownership supported by a dedicated and proffessional
staff working in a disability-friendly environment.
The challenge of choosing a new director is real and we partners
stand in prayer well knowledge that the Liverpool board is able
to see transitional continuity.
