7. COLLABORATION UDEK is collaborating with Kenya National Deaf
Education Programme (KNDAEP) which is carrying HIV/AIDs awareness targeting the deaf community in Kenya.

8. PROJECT SUMMARY

This project intends

a) Empower Persons living with disabilities in information technology through acquisition of computer skills which enables rather than hinder wholesome development.

b) Increased level of competition in the job market for persons living with disabilities.

c) Creation of self-employment in Information Technology Industry for persons living with disabilities.

d) Persons living with disabilities will make choices from an informed position after accessing information.

9. CURRENT CHALLENGES:
Few computers limiting us reach only two persons per session due to lack of resources.

10. PREVIOUS SUPPORT:

Naha Baptist Church in Japan bought the following items:

2 desktop computers

1 laptop computer

Laminator machine.

Kenya National Deaf HIV/AIDs Education Programme (KNDAEP) donated an office.

KNDAEP occasionally provides a sign language interpreter at no cost.

Finland Embassy bought equipment to train the visually impaired (blind).
