National Deaf HIV/AIDS Education Programme (KNDAEP)
KNDAEP produced a number of HIV/AIDS Materials in Kenya sign Language.
the materials were adopted directly from the offical materials
developed by the National AIDs Control Council
(NACC). the Project was the first national AIDs Information
Education and communication project in Kenya and was funded by
the government.
The project run from 2004 to 2006 and included training
of nurses in sign language, creating awarenees in
various provinces in the country using the materials that were
developed. The project funding to the tune of USD 100,000 also
say the initial mobile deaf VCT services together with the Nairobi
Deaf VCT provide VCT services in sign language.
