:: MOONLIGHT VALENTINE VCT a great success:
15 February 2007

What did you do on valentine? I know many are awash with fond red memories full of chocolate and music and love. But much more are those who thronged the Moonlight VCT services provided to Nairobians on the 14th of February 2007.

Liverpool VCT an international organization providing voluntary counseling and testing, care and treatment served the Nairobi lovers with the real meaning of valentine. To know your HIV/status as a couple. The highly successful event saw couples jammed the famous Bomb Blast Memorial Park area behind Cooperative Bank all with a clear knowledge that love is incomplete if they did not know their HIV status.

Many walked into the dancehalls, dinner tables and party after being assured that whichever their status they will never walk alone. What a joyful kiss I received after knowing that though my girlfriend or boyfriend is HIV positive, we were still able to enjoy the chocolate and cakes like anybody else. The counseling assured the little doubts that hung in our minds for long. We were assured that we could enjoy sex normally like anybody else without fear.

When I walked out of the tents and so the glittering eyes in the moonlight, my heart was happy that I was not alone. My heart was freshened by the fact that we were many who chose to commit our selves to be fully informed of the benefits of knowing our status.

Some of us made the decision on the dinner table at nine that night. after all the vows to continue loving you with all my heart and all I have.... we felt nice that even that little mistake i had last time could well be taken care of so that I can assure him or her with certainty. I can know that yes when I say "I love you with all I am" means i know that you know that you know that I know...

It’s nice to know that even being in a discordant relationship all i need to know can so easily be found in any VCT. It was refreshing especially so few days after Asunta proved to us all that even when both of us are HIV positive we could well be able to have a child, or enjoy our dreams, finish school, or university, get a job, get married or simply enjoy the treasures of valentine chocolate lipped red kisses....

What more is sweeter in life than these? Congratulations LVCT....we know that always we will never walk alone...

Thank You....
