NICKSON KAKIRI TURNS 31 IN STYLE AND WISER!:
Nickson Kakiri; a GALLAUDET scholar and one of
the leading deaf leaders threw a birthday party, 'much wiser'
!
In celebrations that sounded like like the "Nickson homecoming"
after over 6 years in the US, it was the beggining of the beggining
of what observers say is a new social-political life.
| the laughter was contagious and much fun
was evident. many people had the opportuinity to give the
good words which were more of thanks giving for many yaesrs
of work and eventual coming back home to help build the community
out of damning poverty. |
 |
 |
As a development cscholar he know the task
ahead was enormous yet his great smile says it all "Nothing
is impossible if we worked together". there is no mountain
we cannot overcome if the leadeership of the community stood
shoulder to shoulder.... |
| as much wine an beer poured on his much read
head, many were also quite concious of the implications of
the evening in terms of the building bridges among the many
conflicts always eveident. |
 |
 |
But the one standing out message the party
said loud and clear was together we stand divided we fail.... |
:: there was much blessing both in words and gifts.
many gave great words of how they have known the noew born boy
from time he was houng, or from time they use to fish or school
in Kuja or somewhere deep down in history....
The food was fanstastic thanks to the capable
cooks led by Mumbi. The voice was done by Jack and there were
many a times when laughter and joy filled the evening.
the annointing was typical of the love many have
on him despite the long days he spent in the us. There were interesting
versions of the growth from the humble biggining of history to
the high and mighty life of today's leadership responsibiltiies
in a demanding deaf community.
:: the
annointed...
to them that much is given much is also expected....
:: Happy Birthday to you...
As you turn 31, wiser and more aware of the needs and the reality
of the loacl community... the task ahead is even more demanding....
:: Graduate... but do i say...
the papers are tools to help build a greater community...
:: Humbled to serve
Humility is the key....
