:: Pillow-talk among or with deaf partners

In relationships in which one person in hearing and the other is deaf, the two develop cues to ease communication should there be no lights. One of the major communication skills is touch. They know the touch and smell of the other. This is important to build the relationship, especially where it may be hard to communicate due to darkness. As the Valentine month approaches, the quality of pillow-talk need to be built. MAny of us do not have time for mending our relationships especially after a hard days work. make use of your pillowtime.

Pillow-talk.

A friend of mine asked this question: is there pillow talk in a relationship with a deaf partner? Many hearing people communicate alot in the darkness of bedtime. Many feel more brave to say some romantic words to their partners in the shadow of darkness just under the warm fluffy bedsheets. They call this pillow-talk. I do alot of pillow talk says my friend. How would it happen in a relationship among the deaf.

Pillow talk has two issues. if the talk is romantic there are more romantic ways to talk using touch that words. many a times playful chat is more romantic to many relationships than talk. But should there be some coloured lights the better. Many bedrooms have the low watt blue or green lights. this is adequate for the more expressive chat and romance. communication is also quite rich in such sexy environments.

Background music or late nigh radio

Music is a powerful tool in enhancing romantic pillow-talk. Pillow-talk with background music is possible if there is some lights. Many romantic partners will lead the communication that the other partner cannot appreciate. You lead in dance, you lead in worship, or in explaining or interpreting the words of the song. This can skillfully be done with some lights and leading actions that build curiosity. This is also the time to build you signing skills. Signing songs is quite romantic yet challenging.

Many deaf partners appreciate loud music or music that has visual expression e.g. TV. In radio music it is easier if you lead by a dance for him or her to get the tempo...

Relationships with partners with various communicative challenges are like any other you need to learn the ropes to enjoy it. Many of us take alot of things for granted. we do not have skills and do not care to build skills for good relationships. Good relationships are made. you must work on it. change yourself or help your partner change where necessary to enable success.
