Disability
is not Inability |
:: Trevornomics and Kibichi's Dream.
Trevor Kibet and John Kibichi
are two young Kenyans who live in the two sides of the vision
2030 dream that Kimunya budgeted for on 14th June 2007. Finance
Minister Amos Kimunya's Budget promoted Kibets to replace him
in 2030 but denied his counterpart John Kibichi dream to become
Planning Minister. The Budget
2007 killed, destroyed, eliminated and ignored the
dreams of children with disabilities.

John Kibichi who the
media refers to as "Magic
John" whose audacity to dream may not be
realised by Kimunya's Vision 2030 if universal design continues
to be sidelined in government planning and resource allocation
while the media continues to propagate discrimination of the
community at the current pace.... Kibichi's
Dream. |
| "Elite schools, it appears are moulding
intelligent kenyans who would steer the country to higher
economic growth rates" says the Daily Nation on Trevor
Kibet (pictured). The young economist was deliberately seated
in parliament building watching Finance Minister read his
budget speech expressed his
2030 dream |
|
The Actions that we take today
in making our economy sustainably inclusive are the means through
which Kibichi will manage to be the Planning minister in a 2030
Kenyan government with Finance Minister Trevor Kibet. John Kibichi
does not want Trevor to throw him pennies while seated in some
streets of Nairobi of 2030, God Forbid!
What the reader of local media did not remember is that the difference
between Trevor and Kibichi was in the way the govermnent looked
at them in making the budget. This government provided social-economic
framework that enables Trevor to work and achieve his dream, deliberately
killed Kibichi's
dreams.
What Kibichi cried for was an
opportunity to live his dream. What Trevor told the world was
an opportunity to quicken his dream. Kimunya's Budget cherished
Trevor's Dream
but ignored Kibichi's.
